How To Care For Your Wig

Everyone is different in the care of their wigs. On average you should wash your wigs every 4 to 6 weeks if you wear it every single day. Some clients wash them more frequently while others wash them less frequently. It's really up to you and how it's feeling and looking.

Below you will find a four-step process of keeping your wig looking beautiful:

Step 1

Fill your sink or a basin bowl full of cool water.

Step 2

Use about a dime size of a mild shampoo and get the water sudsy. Visit our wig care products page for options.

Step 3

Submerge your hair in the water and allow it to soak for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 4

Rinse thoroughly with cool water, then blot with a towel and let it hang dry, it will dry overnight.

ADDITIONAL TIPS:

If you're wanting more volume in your hair you can turn it inside out and let it dry. If your hair is more of a smoother style then you can just let it dry naturally the way it falls.

HEAT AND STYLING

Things you need to be aware of. Your wig will only withstand 220゚ if it is not Heat Defiant. If it is Heat Defiant it will withstand up to 320° to 350°

You really want to be careful when:

  • Opening the Oven

  • Barbecuing

  • Fireplaces and Fire Pits

  • Outdoor heaters

If you do experience any frizziness in your hair. There are things that can be done so you can give me a call or make an appointment to come into our store.
